Simply Coffee Shops are proud to have been chosen by Theatr Clwyd to design and fit their new Cafe within the theatre reception area.
The newly renovated Grade 2 listed Theatr Clywd has been transformed with a 50 million pound renovation and expansion project reopened in 2025 to mark it’s 50th anniversary creating a central hub for the performing arts within Mold , North Wales.
Simply Coffee Shops were appointed by Andrew Roberts who worked closely with Paul from Simply Coffee Shops to create the new Cafe which will be operated by Bryn Williams and his catering team.
The brief from Andrew to Paul at Simply Coffee Shops was to bring the Cafe into the heart of the foyer and make customer flow within the area without disrupting existing access and egress routes and to complement the existing building, structure and finishes.
Paul placed the Cafe within the existing structural columns whist challenging the original concept that they may block sight lines – instead they have been utilised to make the Cafe a focal point of the ground floor reception and foyer for use by visitors, performers and staff to create a comfortable relaxed location to grab a coffee and bite to eat within this gem of a building.
The Cafe operates daily and during evenings when the theatre is open for performances and events.
It was a pleasure to work with Andrew and his team who made us all at Simply Coffee Shops welcome whilst the fit out was completed.
We wish Bryn Williams and the catering team every success in the running of the Cafe.
