Kings Cliffe Bakery has a tradition for baking bread for over 300 years, and Simply Coffee Shops are proud to have been involved in the complete renovation of the old bakery in Kings Cliffe, to create their new bread shop and their new Café on the site of the original bakery, which had the challenge of being in a conservation area, and a Grade 2 Listed Building.
Simply Coffee Shops created the new shop displays and new counters utilising a mix of Oak, T&G and Rustic Timbers, to add a delightful mix to the bread shop and the adjoining café. We utilised more rustic timber to design the counter, with solid surface counter tops. The cafe area was broken up with a mix of half height walls and a mix of seating to create a cosy atmosphere whilst incorporating a full range of new equipment and food displays.
Kings Cliffe Heritage have recorded that in 1911 the site was owned by William Ingle as a Baker and Confectioner, and it is believed to be the UK’s second oldest bakery. Simply Coffee Shops are extremely proud to have designed the scheme and enjoyed working with Tom and his team to deliver a fantastic renovation, the site will be boosted by over 40 additional external covers, in the next phase of the development.
