Grounds Café Cannock Chase is located in the heart of the forest, Simply Coffee Shops have worked closely with AE Catering and Forestry England to refurbish the Main Café and create a new food prep area on the site to increase footfall to the Café.
A complete overhaul of the existing Café took place in 3 Phases to keep the site trading whilst being redeveloped. Phase 1 saw the conversion of Forestry England’s Archive Stores turned into the main food preparation area for the site with the introduction of new cooking areas, wash up stations, offices and store rooms. Phase 2 introduced an overhaul to the Main Café seating areas with new bench seating, flooring, decorations, new lighting and music system, heating and insulation, power upgrade, solid oak feature wall panel, and new Drinks Service Area for outside service. Phase 3 was the main focal point of the refurbishment, with demolitions taking place and new structural supports introduced to increase the size of the Café for customers, Lighting Features, New Solid Oak Doors to the outside seating area, new floors including feature tiles, drainage and electrical upgrades, self service area created to improved customer flows, bespoke furniture, food prep support area and over 12 meters of new counters incorporating 2 Coffee Machines, Feature Ambient Display, Chilled and Warm Food and 2 Till positions and additional retail shelving.
Paul work closely with Cristina and Ildiko from AE Catering over 12 months to create the new Café with Cristina developing ideas from previous refurbishments with Paul. Simply Coffee Shops design maximised space for customers and flows to improve customer visits to the Café. Andy and his team from Forestry England approved all stages of the refurbishment and Simply Coffee Shops also upgraded areas of there estate of the Café to improve the infrastructure of the site. Mark coordinated the site refurbishments with thanks to our main team on the ground Tomasz, Steve, Gareth, Matt and Jim.
